“Hey, I’m Darlene Evans, a mom, grammy, chicken lady and a farmer at heart who believes good food starts in the backyard.

Our family settled in Georgia and that’s where I picked up my love for country music. My first radio job was in Sandersville, reading livestock reports, rip and read news and blasting country music on the radio. Fast forward… got a major market radio job in Atlanta for a few years and then… fell in love with a guy from Miami. Started working at WKIS “Kiss Country” Miami/Ft. Lauderdale and was there for 32 wonderful years doing middays.

DARLENE Evans

BR Radio Station Manager

We had property here in Glades County since 2002, so when the job came available to manage WTIR for the Seminole Tribe of Florida, it was a no-brainer. WTIR is a 2800 watt, non-profit radio station that serves the Brighton Reservation. We play Hank Williams Sr. to Morgan Wallen and everything in between. Red Dirt Country, Classic Rock and Christian music as well.

With the new Seminole Brighton Bay Hotel and Casino, along with their country concerts and shows, fun times are ahead of us.

WTIR will be broadcasting “live” during the PRCA Rodeo and Extreme Bull Riding. We will be interviewing lots of folks… contestants, stock contractors, cattlemen, cattlewomen, cowboys, cowgirls, country artists and maybe YOU. : ) It’s always so much fun. I hope to see you there. Make sure you come say Howdy. Feel free to give some feedback or requests to wtir@semtribe.com

We love ya…

WTIR at 91.9! Your station on the Rez.
